“Artificial Earthquake 07″
Last Sunday, we attended a photo exhibit called “Artificial Earthquake 07”. The authors, Yekaterina Nikonorova and Yulia Samosenko, have been documenting the radical changes taking place in their hometown Almaty.

“Urban Renewal” is what Robert Moses used to call this. Systematic destruction of a culture that already exists within a city limits. Much of New York’s South Bronx still bears the scars of this type of development.
